After 10 years shooting weddings across four provinces, we’ve worked at a lot of venues. These are ones we’d genuinely point couples toward — one per province, each with its own character.
Limpopo: Orpen View, Polokwane
Orpen View sits in Ivydale on the edge of Polokwane, with a contemporary design bordered by terraced lawns and manicured gardens. It’s a flexible space that seats up to 400 guests banquet-style, which makes it a solid option whether you’re planning a large celebration or something more modest with room to spare. The clean, open layout gives a lot of flexibility for how you want to style the day.
Gauteng: Olympus Manor Venue & Guesthouse, Pretoria
Olympus Manor in Pretoria East is set on a 2-hectare property with lush gardens, water features and mature trees — genuinely photogenic ground to work with. It offers multiple indoor venues (Banquet Hall, Ballroom, Villa Venue) plus outdoor chapels and courtyards, catering anywhere from an intimate 40-guest wedding up to a 400-guest celebration. On-site accommodation is a nice bonus if you’ve got guests travelling in.
North West: The Nut Farm, Hartbeespoort
The Nut Farm sits in the valley between Hartbeespoort and the Magaliesberg — a working pecan farm where enormous old trees form a natural canopy over the ceremony space. It’s the right pick for couples who want a genuinely natural, unhurried setting rather than a heavily styled venue; the landscape does most of the work, and the dappled light under those trees photographs beautifully.
Mpumalanga: Silver Sixpence at Cairnfern Country Lodge, Dullstroom
Cairnfern Country Lodge, home to the Silver Sixpence wedding venue, sits in Dullstroom’s cool highlands — 300 hectares of rolling grassland, mountains, dams and forest, with exclusive use of the property for the wedding party. It suits couples drawn to misty, trout-country scenery rather than bushveld or coastal settings, and the exclusive-use setup means your wedding weekend isn’t sharing the grounds with anyone else.
A note on choosing a venue
The right venue depends on your guest count, budget and the look you’re going for — these four are simply ones we know deliver, each in a different style. If you’d like our honest take on a venue you’re already considering, or want to talk through what coverage would look like at any of these, get in touch.
